When people first talked about Global Warming, it was discredited and thought of as a wacky idea. Now most governments have installed some sort of plan to reduce their carbon footprints. Why should they do this unless there is a serious problem with carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. I remember reading an article in 1994 about how they were estimating a rise of 1.0 ppm/per year. But since the year 2000, it has actually been rising by 2.0 ppm/per year (See for yourself).
So what can we realistically do to change this trend before it goes too far? Already carbon dioxide is at an 800 year high !! Well the answer lies within another idea that was seen as wacky when the political movement started. Yes that's it; one wacky idea to solve another. Yet the more you think of it, the more you will know that I am right. It was the movement called, save the rain forests. Trees and other plants naturally take carbon dioxide in, and through photosynthesis turn it into oxygen. With technology as it is, shouldn't we try to make a big move towards a paperless society? If we all planted a tree, a tree for the oxygen we need to breathe to live. That would be an increase of 7 billion trees, don't you think that would make an impact upon the rise in carbon levels?? But instead of this, instead of doing what is naturally right, we see carbon taxes in some countries, and the EU planning to reduce the amount of cows in the fields. Lets all stop cutting down plants that give us life, lets stop removing gardens to put in cement paths around our houses. It is time to change!!!
